August, 2008 Dear WHRHS Parents and Students: The college admission process is more competitive than ever. One of the biggest challenges for a student is to achieve a competitive score on standardized tests. Scoring well on standardized tests will build tremendous personal confidence and is a crucial element in a student’s successful journey through the college admissions process. The Watchung Hills Regional HS PTO and Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions have come together to give WHRHS students an opportunity to take a practice SAT or ACT before the actual exam. These scores will not go on record. The Practice SAT and ACT will be given on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 8:00am-1pm. The test will be held at WHRHS South Cafeteria, and a suggested donation of $10 for pre-registered students would be greatly appreciated. The registration deadline is Thursday, September 4th. 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the Watchung Hills Regional HS PTO. Enclosed is a registration form for the practice exam. If you would like to attend, please fill out the form below with suggested donation in cash, check, or money order made payable to WHRHS PTO and return the form to the Front Office or mail to: Jaime Mattesky • Kaplan 188 Route 10 West • East Hanover, NJ 07936 On Tuesday, September 9th, 5-9pm in the WHRHS South Cafeteria, Kaplan will give back test results with individual feedback. Parents and Students will have the opportunity to review score results during a one on one consultation with a Kaplan Student Advisor. Please call 201-317-3778 to schedule your appointment. At Kaplan, we believe that the first step to achieving a high score is diagnosis. A practice test will determine a student’s strengths and weaknesses before he/she takes the real test. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity. Please email Jaime Mattesky at JMattesky@kaplan.com if you have any questions. Sincerely,
