Please mark your
calendars —
The date for our January
meeting has been changed to Tuesday, January 17. All PTO meetings take place at
7:30pm in the high school library. The recipients of the teacher support mini
grants will be announced at this meeting.
The PTO meeting dates for
the remainder of this school year are: March 21, April 18, and May 23. Thanks
go out to Paulette Kampe for providing delicious home baked goods for our
meetings and bringing the coffee. Our meetings are one of the best ways to stay
in the loop with what’s happening at the high school.
Membership is up many
thanks to all the 850 family and faculty members who joined the PTO. All are
welcome and remember it’s never too late to join the PTO. We reserved some extra
all school student directories that are available to new members on a first come
first serve basis.
By now everyone should
have received the annual PTO appeal letter. Please respond as generously as you
can. This is an important part of our PTO budget and helps pay for many
worthwhile programs that benefit out students. Thank you to Laura Fennimore for
helping us with our mailings. Thanks are also due to Elaine DeVito for taking
on the management of the appeal letter.
The date to purchase the
Sweepstakes Calendar is coming to a close. If you haven’t yet done so, please
support the WHRHS PTO by purchasing a chance to win in the Calendar
Sweepstakes. All Sweepstakes Calendars must be purchased by December 23, 2005.
Drawings for 90 daily cash prizes will be held each week for the months of
January, February, and March 2006. We will be giving away almost $5000 in cash
prizes. There are still a few Calendars left for purchase, please contact Liz
George at 908-561-9356 or email: NKG@aol.com
for information or to obtain additional Calendars. Or you can purchase
Calendars in the South Office from Susan Obuch.
This Spring with WHRHS
Band Parents Association the PTO is planning the first ever—Parent Teacher
Variety Show. We need parents in all areas: ticket sales, performance talent,
and directing. This will be a wonderful night out and a lot of fun to be part
of the adult talent at WHRHS. Please contact Laura Mandell or John Skrobacz.
Parents are urged to understand the serious and complex
issues regarding the Jan 24 high school referendum. Please check out the
website: www.4whrhs.org. This site was
created and is maintained by high school parents.
A parent group—All Towns for the High School was formed dedicated to the effort of
passing the referendum to pay for the last few months of the 3 year high school
construction project completed. For further information, please contact:
