Welcome back to the school year. We are fortunate to have a talented and enthusiastic group of PTO officers and members on the Executive Board and committees. All funds we raise at the Watchung Hills Parent Teacher Organization goes toward encouraging and underwriting programs and projects that promote the quality of education at Watchung Hills Regional High School. The 2005/2006 PTO is offering more programs and services this school year. We are bringing back the Book Fair, scheduled for April 25—27, 2006. For the first time, we have a web site. The current web address is http://www.whrhspto.org We are starting up a Teacher mini-grant program. Teachers will submit proposals for PTO funding of programs that sparks learning beyond what is currently available through the regular school budget. We started a baking committee to provide home baked goods for PTO meetings and school functions. We are now able to add a homemade touch to Hospitality. We have regular school and PTO updates by email. We can communicate instantly with other parents to tell of school closings, delayed openings or other changes in scheduled events. Please look for our fund raiser of the year to be mailed home after back to school night. From October through December 23rd we will be selling Sweepstakes Calendars for a $20. Donation. You will have 90 chances to win as we will be drawing for the sweepstakes all of January, February, and March. Weekdays will pay out $40, weekends will pay out $75, and 3 holidays per month will pay out $100 each.
