Dear Watchung Hills Families,

The Parent-Teacher Organization of Watchung Hills Regional High School would like to take time to thank all of you for your past support and generosity in responding to our PTO Annual Appeal Letter.

We have currently passed the half-way mark for our 2007 fund drive!

Enrichment Programs Are A Main Goal.   Our students spend a great deal of their time in school; therefore, it is an ideal place for parents to help bring enrichment to their lives.  Your contribution allows the PTO to help fund many wonderful cultural programs from the world of the arts and music, as well as social programs and assemblies. 

We are currently in the process of presenting a series of author/poet workshops for the high school, including Ernesto Quinonez, author of Bodega Dreams; and holocaust survivor Hedy Brasch, author of Maus and Night.

Teachers Also Benefit With Supplemental Assistance .  The teacher's support program has proven to be a big success.  Through this program, educators can create or supplement programs that enrich the student's in-class experience beyond what is available through the school board budget.   The PTO is able to fund materials, speakers, or events that add an extra spark to the learning process while corresponding with the curriculum. 

Last month the PTO agreed to purchase 2 Pinhole Polaroid Day labs which use old technique to photograph & recapture moments in history & lit of late 19 ^th century; as well as up-to-date equipment to allow vodcasting and webcasting.

Scholarships Are Also Offered.  PTO funds also go toward supporting college scholarships for graduating seniors who plan to attend college but are in need of financial assistance.   Scholarships are also given for recognition of academic achievement and community service.

On behalf of all the WHRHS students, the WHRHS PTO desperately seeks your support again this year.   Any financial support you can offer will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. Our goal is to enrich as many students as possible.
